In Kindergarten, we practice our calendar skills every day. We learn months of the year, days of the week, and how to say a proper date. Ask your child to sing our calendar songs, and talk about each day and what it means to your child and family.
For example, if you have a tradition in your home of doing family activities on certain days, talk about how these activities make that day special. Some families are involved in religious activities on various days, and you can help your child see the connection between these events in their lives.
We are also talking about the change of seasons from summer to fall. Take your child for a walk and collect fall leaves to celebrate this colorful, exciting time of year.
